Honoring Ukrainian Independence Day

On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a brutal and unprovoked war against the free and independent country of Ukraine. Killing thousands, injuring thousands more, and displacing at least 14 million people, the war has been declared by many to be a genocide. The David-and-Goliath like fight the Ukrainians have put up against Russia has become a symbol  of anti-fascism and freedom around the globe. On August 24, 2022, which happens to be the six-month anniversary of the invasion, the country of Ukraine celebrates the 31st anniversary of their independence from the Soviet Union. In honor of the brave Ukrainians and their fight for freedom, I have decided to post pictures of sunflowers, the national flower of Ukraine, on my blog. I sincerely hope that some day soon this war will end, and Ukraine will be able to celebrate their victory and independence without the threat of missiles and bullets.
Slava Ukraini! Glory to Ukraine!
